The Ministry of Agriculture has explained why canned meat (tushonka) produced in Kazakhstan is sold at a higher price compared to foreign products. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Vice Minister Amangali Berdalin, the price of canned meat is set based on the quality of the meat.
“For example, the quality of raw materials used in Belarusian products is much lower compared to ours. Everyone uses beef, but meat has fatness. There is high, medium fatness and lean livestock. Therefore, the price turns out different,” Berdalin said at a briefing in the government.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin spoke about why sausage products produced in Kazakhstan are expensive. According to him, the quality of meat in Kazakhstan is high. Therefore, the quality and price of sausage produced from it are also high.
