Kazhydromet has expanded the list of regions under storm warnings for Thursday, June 25, and now they are in effect across all regions of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that storm warnings were issued for Astana and 11 regions due to rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, fog, and fire danger. Later, the list was expanded to include Almaty, Karaganda, West Kazakhstan, Ulytau, and Zhetysu regions.
Almaty Region
In the south and mountainous areas of Almaty Region, brief rain and thunderstorms are expected. Wind is westerly, with gusts of 15-20 m/s in the mountains. During the day, intense heat of 35-38°C is forecast. High fire danger persists across the region, with extreme fire danger in the north.
Almaty City
In Almaty, brief rain and thunderstorms are expected, with wind gusts up to 15 m/s. In Konayev, westerly wind with gusts of 15-20 m/s is forecast, with intense heat up to 35°C during the day. In the Ile Alatau mountains, brief rain, thunderstorms, and wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected.
Karaganda Region
In the west, north, and east of Karaganda Region, rain and thunderstorms are expected, with hail and squalls during the day, and occasionally heavy rain in the east. Wind is westerly and northwesterly, with gusts of 15-20 m/s in the west, north, and east, occasionally up to 23 m/s. High fire danger persists across the region, with extreme fire danger in the west, east, and south.
Karaganda City
In Karaganda, rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected in the morning and afternoon. Extreme fire danger persists in the city.
Ulytau Region
In the north and east of Ulytau Region, rain and thunderstorms are forecast, with hail and squalls during the day. In the center, light rain and thunderstorms are expected. Wind is westerly and northwesterly, with gusts of 15-20 m/s in the north and east during the day. High fire danger persists across the region, with extreme fire danger in the south and east.
Zhezkazgan City

Zhetysu Region
In the east and mountainous areas of Zhetysu Region, brief rain and thunderstorms are forecast, with light rain and thunderstorms in the center during the day. In the Alakol Lakes area, southwesterly wind with gusts of 15-20 m/s is expected. During the day, intense heat up to 35°C is forecast. High fire danger persists in the north and south, with extreme fire danger in the east, west, and center.
Taldykorgan City

West Kazakhstan Region

In other regions, according to Kazhydromet, unfavorable weather conditions also persist. Locally, rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, fog, high and extreme fire danger are expected. In some regions, wind gusts may reach 23-28 m/s.
