Storm warning issued across all 17 regions of Kazakhstan

Rain, snow, thunderstorms, hail and strong wind are forecast in Kazakhstan on October 4. Kazhydromet has issued a storm warning across all 17 regions of the country, as well as in Shymkent and the mountainous areas of Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Shymkent

Shymkent is expected to see rain and thunderstorms, with heavy rain at times during the day. Wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s.

Turkistan Region

Turkistan Region is forecast to see rain and thunderstorms. During the day, heavy rain is expected in the west, north, mountainous and foothill areas. Wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s, at times — to 23-28 m/s. Extreme fire danger persists in the west, north, south and center of the region. Turkistan will also see rain and thunderstorms, with heavy rain at times during the day. Wind gusts will be 15-20 m/s, and extreme fire danger will persist.

Almaty

In the Ile Alatau mountains, in the mountainous zones of the Medeu and Bostandyk districts of Almaty, wind gusts of 16-21 m/s are forecast at times.

Almaty Region

In Almaty Region, wind will strengthen at times to 16-21 m/s in the west, south, east and mountains. Extreme fire danger persists in the north, west, east and center. Konaev is expected to see wind gusts of 16-21 m/s and extreme fire danger.

Zhetisu Region

In Zhetisu Region, near the Alakol lakes, wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s, at times — 23-28 m/s. Extreme fire danger persists in the east of the region.

Ulytau Region

In Ulytau Region, rain and snow are expected during the day in the north, east and south. In the west, north and east, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are forecast, at times — up to 23 m/s. Extreme fire danger persists in the region. In Zhezkazgan, wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s, and extreme fire danger will also persist.

Karaganda Region

In Karaganda Region, high fire danger persists in the northwest, east and south, and extreme fire danger in the west, north and center. Karaganda is expected to see wind gusts of 15-20 m/s.

Kyzylorda Region

In Kyzylorda Region, rain, thunderstorms, squalls and dust storms are forecast in the east and north. In the north, west and center, wind gusts will be 15-20 m/s, during the day — up to 23 m/s. Pavlodar Region

Mangystau Region

High fire danger persists in the north and center, and extreme fire danger in the northwest. Semey will see wind gusts of 15-20 m/s in the morning and afternoon, and high fire danger will persist.

Kostanay Region

In Kostanay Region, fog is expected at night and in the morning in the west and north. High fire danger persists in the south. In Kostanay, fog is forecast at night and in the morning.

North Kazakhstan Region

In North Kazakhstan Region, fog is expected at night and in the morning in the west and north, as well as in Petropavlovsk.
