Kazakhstan is increasing exports of agricultural raw materials and processed products. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Growth in exports of certain goods significantly exceeds the overall export growth rate. Sunflower oil stands out in particular.

In January–August, export revenue rose by 48.5% to $672.8 million. The volume of products increased by 35.9% to 611.4 thousand tonnes.

"Last year, Kazakhstan entered the top six countries exporting sunflower oil in the world and took second place among suppliers to the Chinese market. It also joined the three largest countries supplying sunflower meal to the European Union and China," the ministry said.

In addition, Kazakhstan meets a significant part of Central Asian countries' demand for this product.

Wheat exports also grew by 26.5% to $1.25 billion. More than 5.5 million tonnes of grain were shipped abroad. This is 13.8% higher than the figure for the corresponding period last year.

"In total, exports of sunflower oil, flour and finished animal feed amounted to $1.65 billion. Compared with the corresponding period last year, export revenue for these three items increased by 48%," the statement said.

This is clear evidence that the structure of Kazakhstan's exports is gradually changing, with the share of processed products with high added value increasing. That is, the country is not limited to selling agricultural raw materials abroad but processes them into finished products, strengthening its position in the international market.
