Storm warning issued for October 13 in 17 regions of Kazakhstan

A storm warning has been issued for October 13 in 17 regions of Kazakhstan. According to the Kazhydromet forecast, fog, dust storms, rain, snow and stronger winds are expected in the regions, with high and extreme fire danger persisting in some areas. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Western regions

In the west of Atyrau region, a dust storm is forecast during the day. Gusts of the southeast wind in the west, north and south will reach 15-20 m/s. High fire danger persists in the region, while extreme fire danger is expected in the south and in Atyrau.

In West Kazakhstan region, a dust storm is expected during the day in the west and south. There, gusts of the southeast wind will also be 15-20 m/s. High fire danger persists in the west, south and east of the region.

In the west, south and center of Mangystau region, a dust storm is forecast during the day. The southeast wind in these areas will strengthen to 15-20 m/s, at times during the day — up to 25 m/s. High fire danger persists in the center of the region. In Aktau, a dust storm is also expected during the day, with gusts of the southeast wind reaching 15-20 m/s, at times — 23 m/s.

Northern and central regions

In the north of Aktobe region, fog is expected at night and in the morning. High fire danger persists in the east of the region, while extreme fire danger is expected in the west, south and center. In Aktobe, fog is also forecast at night and in the morning.

In the west and north of Kostanay region, fog is expected at night and in the morning. High fire danger persists in the south of the region.

In Karaganda region, fog is forecast at night and in the morning in the west, north and east, as well as in Karaganda. Extreme fire danger persists in the west of the region.

In the west, north and east of Ulytau region, fog is expected at night and in the morning. Extreme fire danger persists in the west, south and center of the region, as well as in Zhezkazgan.

In Pavlodar region, a northwest wind is expected. During the day in the north and east, its gusts will reach 18 m/s.

In the center of Abai region, fog is forecast at night and in the morning.

In the west and north of East Kazakhstan region, fog is expected at night and in the morning. The southwest wind will change to northwest, and during the day in the north and east its gusts will be 15-20 m/s. In Ust-Kamenogorsk, fog is forecast at night and in the morning.

In North Kazakhstan region, fog is expected at night and in the morning in the west and south. The northwest wind will shift to northeast, and during the day in the west and south its gusts will reach 15-20 m/s.

In the west, north and south of Akmola region, fog is forecast at night and in the morning.

Southern and southeastern regions

In Turkistan region, rain and thunderstorms are expected at night in the south and foothills, while rain, snow and fog are expected in the mountains. Gusts of the northeast wind in the west, in mountain and foothill areas will be 15-20 m/s. In Shymkent, rain and thunderstorms are forecast in the first half of the night, with gusts of the northeast wind reaching 15-20 m/s. In Turkistan, a northeast wind with gusts of 15-20 m/s is expected.

In the mountain areas of Zhambyl region, rain and snow are forecast at night. Fog is also expected in the mountains, and during the day the northeast wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s. In Taraz, fog is possible at night and in the morning.

In Kyzylorda region, extreme fire danger persists, while high fire danger is expected in the north and center. In Kyzylorda, fire danger remains extreme.

In the mountain areas of Zhetisu region, fog is expected at night. In the area of the Alakol lakes, gusts of the northwest wind will reach 15-20 m/s, at times — 23-28 m/s. High fire danger persists in the east of the region.

In the east of Almaty region, a northeast wind with gusts of 15-20 m/s is forecast.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that at the beginning of the week, colder weather is expected in Kazakhstan, and in the north — ice followed by snow. According to the Kazhydromet forecast, nighttime temperatures in the north and center of the country will drop to -6 °C in places, and to -5 °C in the east.
