Kazhydromet has issued a storm warning for October 5 in 15 regions of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In the north of the country, rain and snow, low blizzard and ice are forecast, while heavy rain is expected in the south and east. In the area of the Alakol lakes, wind gusts can reach 30 meters per second and more.
"A cyclone and atmospheric fronts will maintain an unstable weather pattern over most of Kazakhstan, with precipitation (rain, snow)," meteorologists reported.
Northern regions
In Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions, rain and snow will fall, heavy in places. Low blizzard and ice are expected, with fog covering certain areas at night and in the morning. The same forecast was given for Kostanay and Petropavlovsk.
In Akmola region, rain and snow and a low blizzard are also forecast. During the day, precipitation will be heavy in the west and north, while fog and ice are expected in these areas at night.
Western and central regions
In Aktobe region, rain and snow will fall at night, with ice forming in the north and east. During the day, light precipitation will persist in these areas, while wind gusts in the north, east and south can reach 23–28 meters per second. In Aktobe, precipitation and ice are expected at night, and wind gusts up to 25 meters per second during the day.
In West Kazakhstan region, rain and snow are forecast at night in the northeast and east. In these areas, the wind will strengthen to 15–20 meters per second. In the west and north of the region, as well as in Uralsk, fog is expected at night and in the morning.
In Karaganda region and Ulytau region, rain and snow, fog in places and wind gusts up to 15–20 meters per second are expected. In Karaganda, precipitation will occur intermittently, with fog forecast at night and in the morning.
Southern and southeastern regions
In Turkestan and Zhambyl regions, rain with thunderstorms are expected at night, in the mountains — heavy rain with snow and fog in places. In Zhambyl region, heavy rain will also fall in the south and east. Wind gusts in both regions will reach 23–28 meters per second.
In Shymkent, rain and thunderstorm are forecast at night, with wind strengthening to 15–20 meters per second. In Taraz, night rain and thunderstorm are also expected. In the north and mountains of Turkestan region, frosts down to −1 degree are possible on the soil surface.
In Zhetisu region, heavy rain will fall in the east and center, in the mountains — heavy rain with snow. In the area of the Alakol lakes, wind gusts will at times reach 30 meters per second and more. In Taldykorgan, heavy rain is expected at times at night.
Eastern regions
In the north of East Kazakhstan region, heavy rain is forecast, in the east and mountains — rain with snow. In Abai region, heavy rain is expected at night in the north and center. In both regions, the wind will strengthen in places to 23–28 meters per second. In Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey, gusts at night can reach 23 meters per second.
Kyzylorda and western regions
In the west, north and center of Kyzylorda region, a dust storm is expected. During the day, the wind will strengthen to 23 meters per second. At night in the north and east, frosts down to −1 degree are possible on the soil surface.
In Mangystau and Atyrau regions, wind gusts at night will reach 15–20 meters per second in places.
Fire danger
Despite precipitation, high or extreme fire danger persists in certain areas of 13 regions. It covers parts of the western, central, southern and eastern regions of the country.
