Kazhydromet reported that on September 5, unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are expected in 11 cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

UMC are forecast in Astana, Aktobe, Almaty, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, Atyrau, Kostanay, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of atmospheric air.

When UMC occur, the quality of atmospheric air in populated areas may deteriorate, which affects human health.

One of the most important factors determining the formation of the level of pollution is the forecast of the synoptic situation (wind, precipitation, humidity, air temperature).

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that according to Kazhydromet forecasts, on September 5, mostly dry weather will persist over most of Kazakhstan. Atmospheric fronts will bring rain and thunderstorms in the southeast and west of the country. In mountainous areas of the southeast, rain and wet snow are possible at night.
