The Border Service of the National Security Committee has prevented illegal export of cash abroad. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On June 2 of this year, during inspection at the Kurmangazy checkpoint in Atyrau region, 299,600 US dollars were found in the personal luggage of a citizen of Kazakhstan.
Also on June 3, six foreigners were detained at the border of Zhambyl region attempting to secretly transport 102.5 million rubles. The materials have been transferred to the competent authorities for procedural decisions, the committee said.
"In total, since the beginning of the year, 681 attempts to export undeclared currency worth 6.9 billion tenge have been stopped," the statement said.
The NSC reminds that Kazakh legislation prohibits the export of cash exceeding the established limit, i.e., more than 10,000 US dollars.
