Kazakhstan has banned grain imports from abroad. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Agriculture approved an order restricting grain imports. According to the order, from July 27, the import of grain from EAEU countries and third states by road, water and rail transport is prohibited.
This restriction is introduced for a period of six months. However, poultry farms, grain processing enterprises, elevators and the Food Contract Corporation are allowed to import grain by rail.
But such grain cannot be sold on the domestic market. In addition, the restriction does not apply to grain in transit by rail.
