Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade and Integration has compiled a list of goods prohibited and restricted for sale on electronic trading platforms. The document systematizes existing legislative norms, but some items appear unexpected. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Among other things, the list includes a separate clause banning the circulation of "weapons and other items whose damaging effect is based on the use of radioactive radiation and biological impact" — referencing the law "On State Control over the Circulation of Certain Types of Weapons." Formally, this applies not only to marketplaces but to circulation in the country as a whole.
The list includes automatic weapons capable of burst fire, weapons shaped to imitate other objects, armor-piercing and explosive cartridges, brass knuckles and flails, as well as knives with an automatically extending blade longer than 90 mm. Weapons made from materials not detectable by metal detectors and weapons based on electromagnetic, light, thermal, or ultrasonic radiation are also prohibited.
Stun guns, air guns, blank-firing and signal weapons, as well as cold steel bladed weapons, can only be purchased from licensed sellers offline — their placement on marketplaces is prohibited. The buyer must be at least 18 years old, and some types require permission from internal affairs authorities.
Non-smoking tobacco products, vapes, flavorings, and liquids for them are banned from import, production, and sale altogether. Regular tobacco products can be sold, but with many conditions: they cannot be sold individually, through vending machines, to persons under 21, from self-service shelves, or with any inscriptions like "light" or "low tar."
A separate clause prohibits the sale of products made from saxaul wood during the ban on cutting saxaul forests — until the end of 2028. Exceptions include pipelines and uranium deposits.
The sale of livestock, poultry, and animal products (meat, milk, eggs) is permitted, but only after a veterinary inspection and with a accompanying certificate — meat older than seven days is not allowed for sale.
Alcohol cannot be sold to persons under 21, as well as from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM (for strong drinks — from 9:00 PM to 12:00 PM), except in restaurants, bars, and transport. Advertising of alcohol and tobacco is also prohibited.
