Pension savings of Kazakhstanis reached 28.35 trillion tenge as of August 1, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF), this figure increased by 14%, or 3.50 trillion tenge, over the year.

Structure of pension savings

The main part of pension savings consists of mandatory pension contributions. As of August 1, their volume reached 26.31 trillion tenge, increasing by 2.69 trillion tenge or 11.4% over 12 months.

Savings formed from mandatory professional pension contributions exceeded 751.56 billion tenge. Over the past 12 months, this figure increased by 6.6%.

Also, the volume of savings from voluntary pension contributions increased. As of August 1, it amounted to 10.41 billion tenge, increasing by 14.9% over the year.

Use of pension savings

According to the UAPF, Kazakhstanis received 435.20 billion tenge of pension savings to improve housing conditions and for treatment.

By inheritance, 63.06 billion tenge was paid, in connection with departure for permanent residence outside Kazakhstan — 28.13 billion tenge, to persons with disabilities — 2.05 billion tenge, for burial — 5.56 billion tenge.

And 378.56 billion tenge was transferred to insurance organizations.

Number of pension accounts

As of August 1, 2026, the total number of pension accounts in the UAPF amounted to 18.89 million. Over the year, their number increased by 6.3%.
