The largest share of Kazakhstani citizens earns an income in the range of 150,000 – 300,000 tenge. As of September 2026, this income level was recorded among 30.9% of surveyed Kazakhstanis. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The National Bank published the results of its latest survey on inflation expectations, conducted by the research company FusionLab. The study involved 1,500 Kazakhstanis over 18 years old from various regions of the country.

Respondents answered the question about their average monthly income. The answers were distributed as follows:

The majority of families in Kazakhstan form their budget from wages – 75.4% of survey participants stated this.

The second most important source was state payments. Almost a third of respondents (33.2%) indicated that they receive pensions, scholarships, or various social benefits.

Another 11.4% of respondents reported having other sources of income besides official wages, state assistance, and support from relatives. Financial assistance from relatives or alimony is received by 9.2% of Kazakhstani families.

It should be noted that, according to the Bureau of National Statistics, the average income of Kazakhstanis in the second quarter was 410,000 tenge, with 24.2% of it provided by social payments. In regions such as Abai Region and North Kazakhstan Region, benefits and pensions already account for almost a third of residents' incomes.

Thus, the survey results show that the incomes of the majority of the working-age population mainly depend on wages. At the same time, state payments remain an important source of income for a significant part of the population. This is especially important from the point of view of social stability and ensuring the well-being of citizens.

The responses of survey participants demonstrate the diversity of income sources: wages, state payments, assistance from relatives, and other sources. These data can serve as a basis for understanding the income structure of the population and improving social policy.

The National Bank's survey on inflation expectations plays an important role in assessing the economic situation of the population. Such studies are taken into account when developing monetary policy.

It should be noted that according to the survey results, the share of citizens with income in the range of 150,000 – 300,000 tenge is the largest. This indicator characterizes the average income level of the population.

Considering that 75.4% of families form their budget from wages, the situation in the labor market directly affects the well-being of the population. The share of recipients of state payments is 33.2%, which indicates the dependence of almost a third of the population on state support.

The share of families receiving financial assistance from relatives or alimony is 9.2%, and the share of respondents with other sources of income is 11.4%. These data indicate the diversity of income sources of the population and the importance of social support.

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, in the second quarter, the average income of Kazakhstanis was 410,000 tenge. Of this, 24.2% was provided by social payments. In regions such as Abai Region and North Kazakhstan Region, benefits and pensions account for almost a third of residents' incomes.

These data indicate the need to take regional characteristics into account when planning social policy. Especially in regions with high dependence on state payments, strengthening social support measures may be required.

Overall, the survey results clearly demonstrate the income structure of families in Kazakhstan and the importance of the social support system. Although the majority of the population relies on wages, state payments and assistance from relatives also play a significant role.
