The portfolio of microcredits issued to individuals by Kazakhstani microfinance organizations decreased by 9.81 billion tenge, or 0.74%, in July 2026. As of August 1, its volume stood at 1.323 trillion tenge, compared with 1.333 trillion tenge a month earlier. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

This follows from data on microcredits of microfinance organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The information was prepared on the basis of reporting submitted by the MFIs themselves.

First decline since the start of the year

The decline was the first since the beginning of 2026. As of January 1, the portfolio of individuals stood at 1.292 trillion tenge, as of February 1 – 1.294 trillion, as of March 1 – 1.302 trillion, as of April 1 – 1.314 trillion, as of May 1 – 1.321 trillion, as of June 1 – 1.330 trillion, and as of July 1 – 1.333 trillion tenge. Despite the July contraction, since the start of the year the indicator remains higher by 30.63 billion tenge, or 2.37%.

Overdue debt

The volume of microcredits to individuals with overdue debt on principal and/or accrued interest as of August 1 amounted to 314.89 billion tenge.

A month earlier, the indicator stood at 323.49 billion tenge. Thus, in July the amount of such microcredits decreased by 8.60 billion tenge, or 2.66%. At the same time, the volume of microcredits without overdue debt decreased from 1.009 trillion to 1.008 trillion tenge.

Dynamics within the overdue portfolio

The dynamics within the overdue portfolio were mixed. Microcredits with overdue payments from one to 30 days decreased from 127.66 billion to 105.69 billion tenge. The decline amounted to 21.97 billion tenge, or 17.21%. Debt with overdue payments from 31 to 60 days, on the contrary, increased from 58.73 billion to 74.90 billion tenge – by 16.18 billion tenge, or 27.54%. The volume of microcredits with overdue payments from 61 to 90 days decreased from 63.72 billion to 58.78 billion tenge. The difference amounted to 4.94 billion tenge, or 7.75%.

Microcredits with overdue debt of more than 90 days grew. As of July 1, their volume stood at 73.38 billion tenge, and as of August 1 – already 75.51 billion tenge. Over the month, the indicator increased by 2.13 billion tenge, or 2.90%.

Total credit portfolio

The total credit portfolio of microfinance organizations, according to the document, as of August 1 amounted to 1.570 trillion tenge. As of July 1, the indicator stood at 1.577 trillion tenge. Microcredits to legal entities over this period, on the contrary, increased from 82.23 billion to 84.42 billion tenge. The portfolio of individual entrepreneurs decreased from 125.99 billion to 124.60 billion tenge.
