Kyrgyz authorities plan to allow owners of cars with foreign license plates to obtain permits for tinting front side windows without temporary registration. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The relevant draft resolution has been submitted for public discussion by the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan. Currently, tinting permits are mainly available to owners of cars registered in Kyrgyzstan, as well as vehicles of non-residents placed on temporary state registration.
However, cars with foreign plates that are in the country without registration cannot use this service. To address this gap, authorities propose allowing their owners to obtain such permits without state or temporary registration.
The following fees are proposed for foreign cars:
Applications can be submitted in several ways: in person at the authorized body, through the online permit registration service, or via self-service terminals.
For registration via terminal, the following is required:
The document must be obtained before operating the vehicle in Kyrgyzstan.
The Presidential Administration emphasizes that entering information into the "Vehicle Register" will be purely for accounting purposes. It is not considered state registration, does not change the legal status of the vehicle, and does not mean placing the car on record.
After the document is adopted, owners of cars with Kazakh license plates will be able to tint windows without placing the vehicle on temporary registration.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that Kyrgyzstan plans to reduce the fee for car tinting for one month.
