The Ministry of Education announced the entry into force of amendments to the education law. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kazakh colleges have been granted the right to lease physical education, health and sports facilities outside of school hours. According to Vice Minister Shynar Akparova, previously such an opportunity existed only for general secondary education organizations.
"Now the sports halls, swimming pools, stadiums and other sports facilities of colleges will be offered for use by residents of settlements after the completion of training sessions," Akparova said.
Colleges will be able to use the income from leasing to maintain and repair sports facilities, purchase modern sports equipment, and develop the material and technical base.
