Kazakhstan women's volleyball team lost to Vietnam 0:3 in the bronze medal match of the Asian Nations Cup, which concluded in the Philippines. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
A mistake at the end of the first set of the semifinal match against Chinese Taipei proved fatal for the Kazakh team. After that, the team seemed to lose all momentum. Losing six consecutive sets in the semifinal and final, the Kazakh volleyball players finished fourth in Candone. This is especially disappointing because the team coached by Askar Shalkibekov had already beaten their bronze medal opponents, Vietnam, in the group stage.
"We keep making the same mistakes, the same ones," the experienced coach lamented during timeouts, but he could not get through to the players. Having won five out of seven matches in the Philippines, the Kazakhstan team finished outside the medals.
