At the XX Summer Asian Games 2026 in Japan, Kazakh athletes finished seventh in the men's 10m air rifle team event. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Kazakhstan's result

The national team was represented by Islam Satpayev, Nikita Shakhtorin and Konstantin Malinovsky. Together they scored a total of 1871.4 points.

Winners and medalists

China won gold, setting a world record with 1899.0 points. India took second with 1890.1, and bronze went to Korea with 1884.2.

Individual qualification results

In the individual qualification, Satpayev posted the best result among Kazakh athletes. He scored 624.1 points and finished 24th. Shakhtorin placed 26th with 623.9 points, while Malinovsky was 29th with 623.4. None of the Kazakh shooters advanced to the final.

The best qualification result was shown by China's Sheng Lihao with 635.4 points. The last final spot went to Korea's Shin Min-ki with 629.2 points.

A day earlier, Kazakhstan's women's team finished sixth in the same discipline. Alexandra Le, Yelizaveta Bezrukova and Sofya Shulzhenko also failed to reach the individual final.

About the Asian Games 2026

The XX Summer Asian Games in Japan officially opened on September 19. Athletes from 45 countries are competing for 460 sets of medals: 217 in men's events, 204 in women's events and 39 in mixed events. The tournaments will be held across 68 disciplines in 41 sports.

Kazakhstan's team at the Asian Games 2026 will feature 559 athletes. The day before, Kazakhstan won four gold medals. The champions of the Games were cyclists Rinata Sultanova and Alexey Lutsenko, as well as karateka Zholaman Bigabyl and Sofya Berultseva.
