At the Asian Blitz Chess Championship concluded in Hong Kong, Kazakhstani players Ksenia Balabaeva and Amina Kairbekova finished in the top ten. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Women's grandmaster Balabaeva, who finished sixth in rapid the day before, took seventh place this time. In 13 rounds of the Swiss system, the Almaty native scored 8 points. The same number of points was earned by women's grandmaster Kairbekova, who placed 10th due to inferior tiebreaks.

Indian grandmaster Harika Dronavalli achieved a golden double in rapid and blitz. Second place, as the day before, went to a Russian representative. Anna Shukhman ceded her podium spot to Valentina Gunina. Bronze was won by Umida Omonova from Uzbekistan.

Kazakhstani players Zarina Nurgalieva and Maria Kholiavko finished 14th and 17th, respectively, out of 41 participants.

In the men's blitz, Vietnamese player Tuan Minh Le triumphed with 11 points. The same score was achieved by Indian Krishna Gotham, who also finished second in rapid. Bronze goes to China's Zhang Haozhen, who scored 9.5 points.
