Police in Karaganda region have deployed a robotic dog with artificial intelligence for the first time. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Polisia.kz, the new technology has already shown results: in two days, the robot helped find four offenders in a crowd during mass events.
The robotic dog was tested during the celebration of Metallurgist Day in Balkhash and Temirtau. On July 17–18, more than 115,000 people attended the festivities. To ensure security, police switched to an enhanced work mode and deployed over 1,000 officers.
The robotic dog, integrated with police databases, can recognize faces in real time, allowing law enforcement to quickly identify wanted individuals and prevent offenses.
During its service, the robot helped detect four such individuals. All violators were subjected to measures prescribed by law.
During the mass events, police also found and returned 87 lost children aged 3 to 17 to their parents.
The police note that the use of robotic technologies is another step in the digital transformation of internal affairs bodies. According to the department, such solutions improve the effectiveness of public order protection and ensure citizen safety at a new level.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that police robots patrol shopping centers and railway stations in Astana. And here you can read about how robotic dogs took to the streets of Aktau.
