The Days of Kazakh Medicine are underway at the Istiklol complex in Tajikistan. A team of leading Kazakh traumatologists and orthopedists from the National Scientific Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Academician Batpenov is assisting local colleagues in solving the most complex clinical cases. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv.
One of the most complex operations of the day was the correction of grade IV scoliosis in a 13-year-old teenager. It was performed jointly with Tajik colleagues by the head of the center for spinal pathology of the NSCTO, Seidaly Abdaliev, and the head of the spinal trauma department, Murat Baidarbekov.
Another equally complex operation was performed on a 37-year-old man who was involved in a road traffic accident. He was diagnosed with a severe combined injury: damage to the pelvic bones, central dislocation of the left femoral head, fracture of the right shin, and dislocation of the talus bone of the right foot.
"According to vital indications, reduction of the talus dislocation and osteosynthesis of the right shin were performed. The operation was carried out by Kairat Tazhin together with colleagues," the statement says.
It is noted that in addition to operations, Kazakh surgeons conducted consultations for local patients with diseases and consequences of spinal injuries, as well as people with orthopedic pathologies.
In total, during the day, Kazakh doctors examined 23 patients in the hospital and consulted 67 people.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazakh doctors from republican centers in cardiology, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and traumatology went to Tajikistan. As part of the Days of Kazakh Medicine in Dushanbe, domestic doctors will conduct joint operations and master classes.
