Kazakh scientists have developed the first domestic extruded compound feed with a biologically active supplement based on wormwood for dairy camels. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Scientists from the Kazakh Research Institute of Processing and Food Industry created a product with no analogues in the country, whose effectiveness has been proven through scientific research.

During four weeks of observation, the average daily milk yield of animals in the experimental group increased by 100 ml per head. Additionally, milk quality indicators improved: fat content rose by 1.92%, protein content by 1.52%, and the share of solids-not-fat (SNF) increased by 0.91%.

The main feature of the development is the use of a biologically active supplement based on wormwood, which is widespread in Kazakhstan. This development is especially relevant for regions with arid climates, where camel farming is one of the most resilient and promising livestock sectors.

According to the ministry, introducing the new compound feed into production will increase the efficiency of camel milk production and expand the use of domestic plant raw materials in feed production.
