From June 13 to 19, the Eurasia Kinofest film festival is taking place in Sochi. The large-scale event has brought together over 700 film directors from 53 countries. More than 100 premieres are presented to the audience. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
As part of the festival, a short film competition is underway. Kazakhstan presented the work of director Zhanel Kuzhikpaeva titled 'Let's Not Sleep?'. The film was shot in 2025 and is a subtle author's drama exploring themes of interpersonal relationships, national identity, and generational continuity through a female perspective.
The festival jury includes Kazakh actress and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Gulnara Dosmatova. The list of competition participants includes short films from Russia, South Korea, and other countries.
According to Janik Fayziev, president of the Eurasia-Kinofest international film festival and producer, this year only premiere films were included in the competition program.
