Representatives of Kazakhstan's national team Vladislav Yakovlev and Ivan Chernukhin became champions of the XX Summer Asian Games held in the Japanese cities of Aichi and Nagoya. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"The Kazakh crew won a gold medal in the men's coxless pair (M2−) rowing competition," the ministry's statement says.

In the A final, Vladislav Yakovlev and Ivan Chernukhin crossed the finish line first, beating their main rivals, the Chinese crew, by 2.09 seconds.
Previous achievements
Kazakh athletes had previously shown podium results at major international competitions. In 2025, Yakovlev and Chernukhin became bronze medalists at the Asian Championships among adults, and this year they won a gold medal at the Asian Cup held in the South Korean city of Chungju.
