The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Indonesia has announced open bidding for the sale of its official vehicle. The starting price of the lot turned out to be low compared to pricing in Kazakhstan. The Toyota Fortuner has been put up for auction for just $3569.24, or 1.6 million tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The auction item
The auction item is a Toyota Fortuner passenger car manufactured in 2012 (color — black, VIN: MHFZX69G0C7043744). The bidding will be conducted using the price-increase method, where the increment step is 5% of the current bid.
Terms of participation
To take part in the auction, which will be held on October 2, 2026, in Jakarta, applicants must pay a guarantee deposit of 15% of the starting price ($535.39). Applications will be accepted until October 1 inclusive.
Why the price is so low
The extremely low starting price of the lot is directly due to the strict conditions of sale and the legal status of the property. The car is sold in "as is" condition, and the buyer has no right to demand repairs.
Obligations of the winner
The winner of the bidding is obliged to pay the full price within 10 working days, as well as to fully assume all associated financial burdens. VAT, customs duties, taxes and fees for re-registering diplomatic plates will be paid exclusively at the expense of the new owner. Any forms of bid rigging at the auction are prohibited, and if the buyer refuses to sign the contract, the guarantee deposit is forfeited.
Comparison with the Kazakh market
On Kazakhstan's secondary car market, the price of a 2012 Toyota Fortuner SUV ranges on average from 8 to 11 million tenge. Thus, the starting price of the embassy car in Indonesia looks anomalously low against the backdrop of Kazakh realities.

Such a price gap is standard for the sale of diplomatic property abroad. Cars are sold without taking into account the import duties of the host country, and legalizing the vehicle falls on the buyer's shoulders, which offsets the apparent benefit of the initial price.
