Exactly four months have passed since Kazakhstan's third national peacekeeping contingent began its service within the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission on the Golan Heights. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During this period, Kazakh military personnel conducted 470 operational activities, including 379 patrols in the area of responsibility.
In addition, 350 explosive devices and 1,800 rounds of ammunition for firearms were destroyed.
Tasks under the UN mandate
In accordance with the UN mission's mandate, the military personnel of the peacekeeping company patrol the area of responsibility and monitor the situation, as well as ensure the constant readiness of rapid response forces.
If necessary, military personnel are involved in reinforcing checkpoints, evacuating UN personnel, as well as escorting Organization representatives and cargo.
