Kazakhstan's Abdurashid Abdullaev has won silver at the 2026 Asian Games in the wushu sanda competition. In the final of the up to 75 kg weight category, he lost to Iran's Soheil Mousavi. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Road to the final
Before the decisive bout, Abdullaev won three fights. At the start of the tournament, the Kazakh athlete defeated Anong Teunchaleun of Laos, and in the quarterfinals he finished his match against Nepal's Sanjeev Maharjan early.
In the semifinals, Abdullaev faced Huang Jan of Chinese Taipei and also secured an early victory, earning his place in the final.
Kazakhstan's second medal
Abdullaev's silver became Kazakhstan's second medal in wushu sanda at the current Games. Earlier, Alizhan Ablagatov won bronze in the up to 70 kg weight category.
