Every third crime registered in Kazakhstan is fraud. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Ranking.kz, 57 thousand fraudulent offenses were registered in January-June of this year. This is 11.7% less compared to the same period last year. Compared to the same period in 2016, the figure decreased by 3.6 times.
Electronic Registration
Currently, most criminal offenses are registered in electronic format. A year ago, the share of electronic format was 93.1%. This does not mean that offenses are committed via the Internet. It refers to conducting criminal cases in digital format. This allows for quick processing of documents and monitoring of the investigation process.
Regional Statistics
In January-June of this year, the largest number of criminal offenses was registered in Almaty. In Karaganda and Akmola regions, the number of criminal offenses decreased significantly.
Annual Indicators
According to the results of 2025, 124 thousand criminal offenses were registered in Kazakhstan. This is 6.6% less compared to the previous year. Compared to 2015, their number decreased by more than three times. In 2025, 113 thousand criminal offenses were registered in electronic format.

Over the past ten years, the structure of criminal offenses has changed significantly. However, fraud remains the most registered type of crime.
