Kazakhstan has changed the procedure for notarizing real estate transactions. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The new amendments came into force on September 8. Now purchase and sale, donation, exchange, pledge, and other transactions related to the alienation or encumbrance of real estate that are subject to state registration must be certified by a notary at the property's location.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Justice, "The introduced changes are primarily aimed at streamlining and systematizing the process of registering real estate transactions."

The new procedure enhances transparency and security of real estate operations and reduces the risks of fraudulent schemes.

Ministry experts note that the territorial principle does not restrict citizens' right to manage their property while in another region. If the owner cannot personally visit the property's location, they have the right to issue a power of attorney to a representative who will carry out the necessary actions on their behalf.

Thus, citizens located in another city or region can still sell, donate, exchange, or pledge real estate through authorized representatives.

The new requirement applies only to real estate transactions and does not affect the procedure for performing other notarial acts.
