Kazakhstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.1% in the first half of 2026, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reported to the President, according to Akorda. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The share of manufacturing industry in the economic structure increased by 9.8%, transport by 7.1%, and construction by 15.2%. Growth was also recorded in trade at 5.7%, agriculture at 4.4%, and communications services at 4.3%.

Investment in fixed capital amounted to 9.5 trillion tenge, with private investment increasing by 21.4%. Bektenov also reported on strengthening the structure of the national economy.

This year, 200 investment projects worth 1.7 trillion tenge will be launched in the manufacturing sector, creating 17,000 jobs. The Prime Minister discussed the progress of major road projects, the construction of a second airport in Astana, and planning for the next phase of the Tarlan Astana transport system.

The volume of housing to be commissioned will reach 20 million square meters. Agricultural output will amount to 15 trillion tenge, and sown areas will increase to 23.8 million hectares. 1 trillion tenge has been allocated to support farmers. Each tenge of the budget helps attract 6.5 tenge of private investment.

In June, annual inflation stood at 10.3%. Optimization of certain social payments will save more than 800 billion tenge per year.
