According to the Energy Ministry, following the results of the 3rd quarter of 2026, the volume of electricity produced by RES in Kazakhstan amounted to 7.8 billion kWh. This is 20% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
Production volume
According to the statement, the main volume of electricity belongs to wind power plants – 4.9 billion kWh. Solar power plants produced 1.9 billion kWh, and small hydropower plants produced 993 million kWh of electricity.
The RES share in total electricity production reached 8.5%. Following the results of the first half of the year, this figure stood at 8.08%.
Installed capacity
At the same time, the installed capacity of RES facilities in the country reached 3.7 GW. In the structure of installed capacity, the share of wind power plants is 2 GW, the share of solar power plants is 1.3 GW, and the share of small hydropower plants is 313 MW.
Thus, the growth in electricity production from renewable energy sources continues in Kazakhstan. This contributes to increasing their share in the country's energy balance and to the further development of clean energy.
