Kazakhstan is experiencing disruptions in the operation of Yandex Go services – taxi and food and goods delivery. The company says it is working to restore the services, but exact timelines are not yet known. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Kazakhstan residents report that Yandex services have stopped working for them. Many have encountered difficulties when ordering a taxi and write that they cannot get to planned events. Kursiv correspondents also checked the services' functionality and confirmed that at the moment it is impossible to order a taxi or food delivery.

The Yandex Go press service confirmed that the services are operating with errors or may be temporarily unavailable.

"We understand that this has affected the daily plans of many people, and for drivers and couriers it means the inability to continue working as usual. We sincerely apologize to everyone who has faced inconvenience," Yandex said.

The company said technical specialists are working to restore the services. At the same time, the exact timelines for resuming taxi and delivery operations are still unknown.

Users link the service disruptions to a UAV attack on Yandex infrastructure in Russia. The company noted that the personal data of Kazakhstanis, in accordance with legislation, is stored on servers on the territory of Kazakhstan and in a jurisdiction that ensures its proper protection. However, a distributed computing infrastructure is used for the operation of the services.

"Individual technological components may be located on servers in different countries. Therefore, technical malfunctions in one of the components can affect the availability of services in several countries," Yandex said.

It is worth noting that over the past few days, Ukrainian drones have attacked major Yandex data centers in various regions of Russia several times. On October 11, the data center in Vladimir completely stopped operations. The company is assessing the damage and recommends that users use alternative recovery plans. Earlier, a fire occurred at a data center in the Ryazan region after an attack, and in the Kaluga region several modules failed, leading to disruptions in the operation of services.
