Under the national project 'Schools of the Future', 217 new-format schools for 460,000 students were built over three years. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Specifically, 105 schools were commissioned in 2024 and 112 schools in 2025. As a result, the problem of 54 three-shift and 12 emergency schools was completely resolved, and the shortage of student places was reduced in more than 100 schools.
A significant part of the facilities was implemented in the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, as well as in the Almaty, Turkistan, Mangystau and Kyzylorda regions, the statement said.
In addition, 84 new-format schools were built in rural areas, allowing more than 130,000 rural children to access a modern and comfortable educational environment.
The area of 'Schools of the Future' is on average 15–20% larger than schools built according to previous standard designs, and the level of technical equipment is more than 4 times higher.
