Massive child safety raids took place in nine regions of Kazakhstan. Over three days, more than two thousand minors were taken to police, and nearly 1,800 parents were brought to administrative responsibility. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.
The raids, involving about 3,000 police officers, were conducted in Almaty, Shymkent, Almaty Region, Zhambyl Region, Mangystau Region, Pavlodar Region, North Kazakhstan Region, Kyzylorda Region, as well as Abai and Ulytau regions.
As a result, police took more than 2,400 minors. Of these, over 1,500 were for committing administrative offenses, and about 1,000 teenagers were identified as neglected and homeless.
In total, police recorded about 4,000 administrative offenses. 257 parents were held accountable for improper fulfillment of child-rearing duties. Another 1,500 parents were punished for minors being on the streets and in entertainment venues at night.
"During the preventive measures in these regions, not a single crime committed by minors was registered," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Such raids are planned to be conducted on an ongoing basis.
