Kazakhstan is not introducing a ban on parking cars near residential buildings from July 1, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The ministry commented on messages that appeared in several media outlets and social networks. They claimed that from July 1, a ban on parking cars near residential buildings would supposedly come into effect.

The Ministry of Industry and Construction stated that this information is not true.

As explained by the ministry, the order "On Approval of Standard Rules for Improvement of Territories of Cities and Settlements" does not introduce new restrictions on parking vehicles near residential buildings. The document is aimed at bringing the regulatory framework in line with the Construction Code and re-approving the current improvement rules.

The department noted that the provisions included in the new rules were already in effect in a similar document approved in 2015 and updated in 2024. No significant changes regarding car parking are provided.

The ministry clarified that the rules do not prohibit citizens from leaving cars in specially designated parking spaces near residential buildings.

The issue concerns the regulation of storing property on adjacent territories. The rules specify a list of items that are not allowed to be stored for a long time in such areas.

At the same time, motor vehicles, trailers, and carts may be subject to restrictions only in case of long-term storage in public areas, not during ordinary parking.

The Ministry of Industry and Construction also emphasized that these rules do not regulate traffic issues, parking organization, or vehicle operation.

The department urged citizens to rely on official sources of information and not to spread unreliable interpretations of regulatory documents.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that Almaty plans to change parking rules for cars and scooters.
