An Athletes' Council has been established in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to information released by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the council includes Olympic champions and medalists, winners and medalists of world championships, current athletes, as well as veterans who have made significant contributions to the development of sports in the country.
Experienced specialists will help improve state policy in the field of sports. "The Athletes' Council will become an effective dialogue platform ensuring interaction between athletes, government agencies, sports federations, and the expert community on pressing issues of domestic sports development," the official statement said.
The council will work to protect the interests of athletes, develop proposals for the development of the industry, and implement state initiatives.
