Kazakhstan has over 100 deposits of rare metals crucial for the global economy and can export a significant portion of them. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Olzhas Saparbekov stated at the 16th International Mining and Metallurgy Congress that Kazakhstan can supply a significant part of global industry with highly demanded critical minerals.

"Today, our goal is not just to export raw materials. We strive to form a full production chain, develop processing, localize high-tech production, introduce modern technologies, and develop new industrial competencies," said Saparbekov.

He also noted the growing investment attractiveness of the mining and metallurgy sector.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Critical Minerals and Metals Joshua Kron stated that the United States has a high interest in Kazakhstan's subsoil resources. According to him, US President Donald Trump has tasked strengthening foreign supply chains for materials needed for the country's industry and defense.
