On October 4, Kazakhstan's Armed Forces mark the Day of Rocket Forces and Artillery. They are part of the Ground Forces and are responsible for destroying enemy firepower, equipment and manpower, as well as for destroying defensive structures and providing fire support to units. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Today, artillery units use more than just weapons. Reconnaissance UAVs are used to detect targets and transmit data, while automated control systems reduce the time between receiving information and completing a fire mission.

Shooting accuracy is also affected by the coordinates of firing positions and targets, meteorological conditions and ballistic parameters. For this, a complex of topogeodetic, meteorological and ballistic support is used.

Artillery officers in Kazakhstan are trained by the Military Institute of the Ground Forces – it graduates up to 60 specialists annually. Operational-tactical level officers are trained at the National Defense University.

The military-trained reserve, in particular, is formed from graduates of the military departments of Karaganda Technical University and Satbayev University. Sergeants are trained at a military college, while junior specialists for artillery and mortar crews are trained at the Ground Forces training center.

The Ministry of Defense also noted the contribution to the development of the Rocket Forces and Artillery of Generals Lut Alchekenov, Askar Zholamanov, Ruslan Shpekbayev and a number of officers, including Mikhail Shleiko, Dauren Yeskhozhin, Nikolai Misyura, Viktor Kashoid, Alexander Teplyakov, Anvar Uzbekov and Giniyatkali Shalabayev.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote about what is known about Kuanyshbek Ushtayev, who headed the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
