The new Bakhty – Ayagoz railway line, which will connect Kazakhstan with China via a third railway border crossing, is more than half complete. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, more than 20 million cubic meters of earthworks have been completed, which is 52% of the planned construction volume. The formation of the roadbed is planned to be completed in October of this year. Currently, 1,379 specialists and 884 units of equipment are working at the site.

"The new railway line will make it possible to form an additional international transport corridor with the Republic of Uzbekistan, redistribute cargo flows from the overloaded Saryagash – Tashkent section, increase the network's capacity and expand transit traffic towards Central Asian countries," the Ministry of Transport stated.

It is planned that thanks to this, the capacity of the transport corridor will increase to 25 million tons of cargo per year, which will increase the volume of international transportation.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the government ordered to accelerate the launch of an aviation hub on the China – Europe route.

The construction of the new railway line is one of the major infrastructure projects aimed at increasing Kazakhstan's transit potential and strengthening logistics links in the Central Asian region. After the project is fully completed, Kazakhstan is expected to become an important transit hub for cargo transportation from China to Europe.

Local labor and equipment are being used during construction, which helps increase employment in the region and stimulate economic activity. The Ministry noted that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure the project is completed on time.

The new railway line is part of a large-scale strategy for developing Kazakhstan's transport infrastructure, aimed at increasing the country's transit potential and strengthening international trade ties. The successful implementation of the project is expected to strengthen Kazakhstan's role as a transport hub in Central Asia.

Currently, work at the construction site is proceeding intensively. A sufficient number of specialists and equipment allows the project to be completed on schedule. The Ministry constantly monitors the progress of construction and, if necessary, attracts additional resources.

The commissioning of the new railway line is expected to contribute to the further development of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. This will increase cargo turnover between the two countries and create new logistics routes.

Overall, the construction of the Bakhty – Ayagoz railway line is an important step in the development of Kazakhstan's transport infrastructure. After the project is fully completed, a significant increase in the country's transit potential and an increase in the volume of international transportation are expected.
