Earlier, Kursiv reported that starting August 28, 2026, updated rules for registering domestic animals, approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, would come into effect in Kazakhstan.
The key change is that mandatory use of microchips for identification is now established for dogs and cats. For other types of domestic animals, owners can choose their own means of registration. Requirements for temporary keeping facilities and data registrars have also been clarified.
