Today the country celebrates Family Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This holiday was included in the list of holidays of the republic in 2013. Strengthening the institution of the family is one of the priority directions of state policy. Special attention is paid to this in the new Constitution.
In order to strengthen targeted assistance to families, the work of family support centers has been modernized. Currently, 160 such centers operate in the country. Since the beginning of the year, more than 50 thousand citizens have applied to the centers. Consultative assistance was provided to more than 43 thousand families, and about 6 thousand families were taken under long-term social support.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on the holiday. "The family is a particularly important institution that determines the unique identity of the nation and directly influences the development of the state and society. The worldview and human qualities of every citizen are formed in their sacred ancestral home. The warmth of a mother's heart and the broad example of a father lead every person to high goals. By passing on our traditions and native values from generation to generation, we strengthen the cultural core and spiritual integrity of our people," Tokayev said.
According to him, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which entered into legal force on July 1, marriage and family, mother, father and child are under the protection of the state. The Constitution places emphasis on strengthening the rights of children and the role of women and mothers in the family.
"For the first time, the norm that 'marriage is a voluntary and equal union of a man and a woman, registered in accordance with the law of the state' has been reflected. Also this year, the institution of the Commissioner for Family Affairs was established. A responsible approach to the issues of raising children and creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of the younger generation is one of the important missions of the state," the head of state said.
Tokayev noted that if we all unite efforts for this common task, it is possible to form a new ethic in society characteristic of civilized countries.
