The share of manufacturing industry in Kazakhstan has increased to 46.7%. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In the first seven months of this year, production in the manufacturing sector grew by 9% and reached 18.8 trillion tenge. The share of manufacturing in total industrial output has for the first time exceeded the mining sector: 46.7% versus 45.8%.
The economy's dependence on raw materials has decreased: deep processing within the country is becoming more profitable than direct export of raw materials, the statement said.
Machine building grew by 22%. Production volume reached 3.2 trillion tenge, with over 96,000 cars produced in seven months.
The launch of full-cycle plants of KIA Qazaqstan and Astana Motors Manufacturing has spurred the development of related industries such as tires, batteries, seats, and multimedia systems.
According to the government, 200 industrial projects are planned for 2026. Of these, 84 have already been launched, creating about 6,000 jobs.
Once they reach full capacity, they will be able to produce goods worth 1.5 trillion tenge annually, with one third destined for export, the government said.
Special economic zones attracted 11.1 trillion tenge in investments. In particular, 577 projects are being implemented in 18 special economic zones, creating over 39,000 jobs.
Residents transferred 865.4 billion tenge in taxes to the budget. This exceeded state spending on infrastructure.
