In July, Kazakhstan saw a notable increase in the number of registered companies with founders from Nigeria and Sierra Leone. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing the DataHub Telegram channel and data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Nigeria: significant growth
The largest increase among these two countries was in Nigeria: over the month, the number of registered enterprises increased by 68, from 359 to 427. This is 19% more than on July 1. Nigeria remains the leader among African countries in the number of registered companies in Kazakhstan and ranks 21st among all partner countries.
All enterprises with Nigerian founders belong to small businesses. More than half of them — 56% — operate in the education sector. At the same time, the main growth in July was provided by organizations in the category "Provision of other types of services" — their number increased by 61. Previously, a noticeable increase in the number of Nigerian companies was recorded in 2023, while in 2024 and 2025 their number decreased.
Sierra Leone: even sharper dynamics
Even sharper dynamics were observed for companies with founders from Sierra Leone. Over the month, their number increased from 30 to 75, that is, by 45 enterprises at once.
Almost all of the growth also came from the sphere "Provision of other types of services": as of July 1, there were no such companies, and by August 1 there were 44. Another 20 organizations with founders from Sierra Leone operate in the education sector, which is one more than a month earlier.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) included digital assets in the investment tax residency program. Foreign investors can now apply for a long-term visa and tax residency in Kazakhstan with investments from $150 thousand in digital assets through licensed AIFC platforms.
