In Kazakhstan, during the reporting week, there was a decrease in prices for a number of socially significant food products. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics, over the week, onion prices fell by 4.8%, white cabbage by 4.6%, potatoes by 2.9%, carrots by 2.4%, and apples by 1.1%.
The overall price level for socially significant food products decreased over the week in Konayev city by 0.4%, in Atyrau, Zhezkazgan and Kokshetau by 0.2%, in Almaty, Kyzylorda, Oral and Oskemen by 0.1%.
In Kostanay, Aktobe, Petropavl, Taraz, Taldykorgan and Turkistan, prices remained at the level of the previous week.
Average prices for selected goods
The average price for onions in the republic was 179 tenge per 1 kilogram. The lowest price was recorded in Turkistan – 135 tenge per kilogram.
The average price for white cabbage in the republic was 176 tenge per kilogram. The lowest price was in Taraz – 132 tenge.
The average price for potatoes in the republic was 241 tenge per kilogram. The most affordable prices were recorded in Pavlodar – 177 tenge and Kostanay – 194 tenge.
The average republican price for tomatoes was 546 tenge per kilogram. The most affordable price was in Taraz – 315 tenge.
