In the first half of 2026, medicines and medical devices worth 126.6 billion tenge were produced. This is approximately 30% more compared to the same period last year.

Currently, 209 enterprises producing pharmaceutical and medical products operate in the country, of which 43 produce medicines. The share of domestic products in physical terms reached 40.3%.

Eight major projects will allow for the first time in Kazakhstan to organize the production of more than 494 types of medicines. These include drugs for the treatment of oncological, cardiovascular, autoimmune, orphan and infectious diseases, as well as diabetes mellitus.

As a result, this means more affordable medicines for patients and increased stability of the drug supply system in the country.
