Over the past two months, Kazakh police have prevented the illegal export of about 17 tons of fuel and lubricants outside the country. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the main flow of violators masks smuggling through illegal vehicle modifications. A total of 87 vehicles with arbitrarily enlarged and hidden fuel tanks were identified. All their owners were brought to administrative responsibility.
The police noted that the largest number of vehicles equipped with oversized tanks was registered in the Zhambyl region. "In the Korday district, police detained a regular bus that had hidden structural containers with a total capacity of 600 liters," police said.
At the same time, work is underway to identify service stations engaged in illegal vehicle modifications. Police, together with representatives of state revenue authorities, inspected 16 service stations involved in installing additional fuel tanks. As a result of the inspections, administrative materials were collected against six owners of the facilities.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, during a meeting, instructed to strengthen control at the state border and continue systematic monitoring of the balance of production, reserves, and consumption of fuel with prompt response to possible risks.
