The Kazakh currency is ending the trading week with a notable weakening against the dollar. According to exchange data at 17:00, the weighted average rate reached 448.36 tenge per dollar against 442.26 tenge at the same time the day before. The difference over the day was 6.10 tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Indicator at the start of the week

On Monday, September 28, the same indicator stood at 441.77 tenge. Thus, since the beginning of the week, the weakening of the national currency against the dollar has become noticeable.

Range during trading

During trading, the value of the American currency varied over a wide range. The minimum price was 444.29 tenge, the maximum reached 451.62 tenge, and the last deals were made at 451.50 tenge per dollar.

Market activity

The activity of foreign exchange market participants was also high. The total volume of dollar trading amounted to $457.328 million, with a total of 1,252 deals concluded on the exchange.

Rate at exchange offices

The rise in the rate also affected exchange offices. According to kurs.kz data, by 17:12 the maximum sale price of the dollar in Astana was 452 tenge, in Almaty – 453 tenge.

Official rate of the National Bank

The official rate of the National Bank for October 2 is set at 441.89 tenge per dollar. For October 3-5, according to the current procedure for its determination, the official rate will be 447.73 tenge per $1.

The current price of Brent crude oil on the world market is about $101.7 per barrel.
