On July 2, Kazakhstan celebrates Diplomatic Service Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The holiday was established by a presidential decree in 2009. The unified system of diplomatic service includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its departments, foreign missions, and subordinate organizations.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated his Kazakh colleagues on the occasion. He noted that the staff of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been professionally protecting the state's interests for more than three decades. "They contribute to strengthening stability and security on the Eurasian continent and in the world as a whole. The diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan makes a significant contribution to the development of comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between our countries. I am confident that the efforts of Kazakh colleagues will continue to be of particular importance in strengthening cooperation, friendship, and good neighborliness between our peoples," Lavrov wrote.
Also, Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin sent congratulations to Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev. "Dear Yermek Bedelbayevich! Today, Kazakhstan's foreign policy agency successfully fulfills multifaceted tasks to promote and protect the country's national interests. This course, outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, brings Kazakhstan well-deserved authority on the international stage," the ambassador said. According to him, the agency's work is distinguished by high professionalism and the ability to effectively respond to modern challenges. Borodavkin also highly appreciated Kosherbayev's contribution to strengthening Kazakhstan-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. Furthermore, the ambassador expressed confidence that multilateral cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop dynamically within the framework of the UN, CSTO, EAEU, CIS, SCO, CICA, and other international organizations.
