The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development has explained the procedure for making payments with digital assets. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Vice Minister Gizzat Baitursynov, the use of digital assets in everyday payments is currently developing. He stated this at today's government meeting.
Joint project of Binance Kazakhstan and Alatau City Bank
For example, a payment option with digital assets has been launched jointly with Binance Kazakhstan and Alatau City Bank.
"The user can pay with digital assets via a QR code, while the seller can accept payment in tenge. Today this service is available at more than 5,000 retail points across Kazakhstan. More than 100 transactions have already been made," Baitursynov said at today's government meeting.
Next steps
Integration with Halyk Bank, Freedom Pay and Tarlan is now planned. In addition, the introduction of tenge-pegged stablecoins for everyday payments is being considered.
