From August 2 to 9, 47 forest fires were registered in Kazakhstan. All hotspots were promptly contained and extinguished, preventing the spread of fire. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to relevant services, 21 fires occurred in forestry institutions under local executive bodies. Another 26 fires were recorded on state forest fund lands.
The hotspots were detected during ground patrolling by the state forest guard, aerial patrolling by Kazavialesookhrana, and using early forest fire detection systems.
Firefighting involved state forest guard personnel, aviation, aerial firefighter paratroopers from Kazavialesookhrana, and necessary equipment.
"Thanks to timely measures, the spread of fire was prevented, and the hotspots were quickly contained and extinguished," the agency reported.
Residents of Kazakhstan were urged to comply with fire safety requirements while resting in nature and to avoid actions that could lead to forest fires.
