From July 5 to 11, 43 forest fires were recorded on the territory of the state forest fund in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

During the week, employees of the state forest guard, paratroopers of the aviation fire service, helicopters and special equipment of the Republican State Enterprise "Kazavialesookhrana" participated in the elimination of forest and steppe fires that covered significant areas.

Of the total number of fires, nine forest fires were recorded in forest institutions under local executive bodies, another 34 on the territory of the state forest fund.

According to the Ministry of Ecology, the fire sources were timely detected during aerial patrolling by Kazavialesookhrana, using early forest fire detection systems, as well as during ground monitoring conducted by the state forest guard.

The department noted that thanks to prompt response, the fires were localized and completely eliminated in the shortest possible time.

At the same time, a high fire danger remains in the Akmola region, the regional akimat reported. Since the beginning of the fire season, 32 forest fires have been recorded in the region. This is 68.4% more than in the same period last year.

The Emergency Situations Department urged residents and guests of the region to follow fire safety rules: do not light fires in unequipped places, do not leave open fire unattended, and do not throw unextinguished cigarette butts.
